This is the charred wreckage of a popular children’s play centre near Nantwich after a devastating fire.
But determined owner Mandy Grinnell has vowed to bounce back from the disaster and re-build Playworld in Shavington.
It’s now believed a fault in a drinks cooler in the centre’s kitchen sparked the fire which raged through the building on Newcastle Road early on Monday morning.
Mandy, of Stapeley, Nantwich, said: “I have stopped crying and have got my fight back to open Playworld better than ever.
“It is now confirmed that the fire was caused by our new drinks cooler.”
She paid tribute to the fire crews who tackled the blaze and rescued the building.
“Credit to the Green Watch from Crewe fire station and the team from Nantwich fire station who bravely put out the fire,” she added.
“They told me the party room hit over 800 degrees. They saved the main building so our task now is to recreate my baby.
“We are in the process of working through timescales and will be calling anybody with a party booked in the next eight weeks to discuss options.
“We are starting to plan the new Playworld and will keep you posted on progress as time goes by.
“As we progress I’d be keen to get your thoughts and views on what worked well, what we could improve on and any new ideas.”
Scores of Playworld regulars and friends have posted messages of support on the family-run business Facebook page.
“I am totally overwhelmed by the kind comments,” mum-of-three Mandy added.
“I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart, you have no idea what they mean to me.”
