The most coveted football prize in England will be in Nantwich this week.

The Barclays Premier League Trophy will be in the town just 24 hours after the new 2013-14 league fixtures are announced.

Football fans will be able to see  the trophy at the Nantwich branch of the bank on Churchyardside on Thursday (June 20).

They will get the chance to have their picture taken with the Premier League prize lifted in recent years by Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea.

There will also be a chance to win Premier League tickets during the day with competitions on offer.

The visit is part of a UK-wide tour to bring the Barclays Premier League trophy closer to the fans.

Cate Crawford, assistant branch manager at Nantwich, said: “We are delighted to have the Barclays Premier League Trophy at the branch.

“Everyone is welcome to come down and have their photo taken with the trophy that every schoolboy dreams of holding aloft to cheers of adoring fans.

“It’s a great pleasure to offer this opportunity to our customers and football fans.”

Due to its value, the 3ft 5in trophy will be flanked by two security guards when on display.

The trophy weighs four stone, with the base accounting for two-and-a-half stone alone.

The main body is made from solid sterling silver.

The crown is cast from 24 carat silver which is gold plated to a depth of half a millimetre.
