Nantwich Library is to host an event with the team behind “The Longest Night: Five Curious Tales” ghost stories book.
The limited edition anthology has been produced by five award-winning authors.
And Nantwich Library on Beam Street will welcome three of those authors for a live reading event on Tuesday December 17.
Those reading on the night include Jenn Ashworth, whose books include A Kind of Intimacy, Cold Light and The Friday Gospels, and was one of the BBC Culture Show’s 12 best new novelists.
Also reading will be Emma Jane Unsworth, author of Hungry, The Stars and Everything, which won a Betty Trask award. Her short story ‘I Arrive First’ was included in the prestigious Salt anthology The Best British Short Stories 2012.
And third author will be Richard Hirst, joint-winner of 2011 Manchester Fiction Prize for his story ‘School Report’.
The anthology also includes new works from Alison Moore, who was shortlisted for last year’s Man Booker Prize, and Tom Fletcher, author or The Leaping, as well as original artwork by Beth Ward.
There will also be a short Q&A session with the readers at the end.
The event starts at 7.30pm and is £5 a ticket.
