Everybody Sport and Recreation has launched a pilot personal training scheme in three leisure centres in Cheshire East, including Shavington.
It’s part of a wider plan to roll out to further centres by January 2016.
Customers can have one-to-one training sessions at Shavington, as well as Macclesfield and Wilmslow.
Sessions include progressive fitness programmes, nutritional and food planning advice and motivation and support from experienced instructors.
Operations director Paul Winrow said: “We have had a number of customer requests to introduce a personal training offer and feel we are now well equipped to offer one to one support to customers wanting to reach their training goals.
“Our personal trainers are specialists in their own areas from helping customers achieve weight loss goals with lifestyle action plans to strength and conditioning and event training.”
Samantha Bottomley (pictured) is one of the personal trainers working from Shavington Leisure Centre.
She says she understands the struggles some face losing weight and living a healthy lifestyle.
“I’d love to say I come from a sporting background, however I don’t,” she said.
“I was more interested in a busy social life than exercising and looking after myself.
“Unfortunately this led to me becoming a size 22, weighing 18st 8lb with a BMI of 40. I was clinically obese!
“I decided I needed to change my lifestyle, improve my health, appearance and more importantly to me, my mental state and happiness.
“It was a hard journey but the willpower, confidence and control I achieved were more than worth it.
“I became so passionate about health and fitness I decided to change my career and train up, gaining knowledge and experience required to be able to assist others in finding a healthier, happier and potentially longer life.”
Everybody is offering free consultations with sessions priced at £25 each for Everybody members and £30 for non-members.
