Radio City mission christmas by Tarporley restaurant Pesto

Tarporley restaurant Pesto is backing Radio City’s Mission Christmas Appeal by becoming a gift donation station for needy children.

The charity hopes restaurant-goers will donate a toy or gift when they visit Pesto at Cabbage Hall on Forest Road.

This will then be given to a child in need over the Christmas period.

The radio station’s appeal hopes to help give thousands of local children across the North West a happy and memorable Christmas.

It wants ‘secret santas’ across the region to donate a gift to a child in need at a local drop off point.

Carole Clare, charity manager for Cash for Kids at Radio City, said: “One in three children are living with poverty in our area.

“So we are delighted more and more companies like Pesto are giving us the support we need to help give as many children as possible a happy Christmas this year.

“We really couldn’t do it without this kind of help.”

New and unwrapped gifts are needed for children and young people aged from 0-18 years old.

People keen to help can drop off gifts at Pesto or at its sister restaurants at the Dibbinsdale Inn in Bromborough or Pesto in Widnes.

Laura Shannon, general manager of Pesto, added: “When we heard about Radio City’s Mission Christmas Appeal we wanted to help out any way we could.

“Not only are our employees donating toys and gifts of all varieties, but we wanted to give our customers an opportunity to get involved by making it even easier for them to donate too.

“We can’t imagine being a young child or a teenager and having nothing to open on Christmas morning.”
