Richmond Village Nantwich has chosen to support St Luke’s Cheshire Hospice in 2018 as they celebrate their 30th birthday.
A series of events are planned over the coming months to help raise funds for the hospice.
A recent Afternoon Tea event at the village off London Road attracted more than 60 people to sample sandwiches and home-made cakes.
A raffle was also held with prizes including a hamper donated by Sainsbury’s in Nantwich and Sunday Lunch for 4 donated by Rookery Hall Hotel.
Nicola Jackson, senior village adviser, said: “It was a lovely afternoon and we are delighted everyone enjoyed themselves.
“In fact it was so popular that we are going to have be ticket only when the next one is held!”
Angela Slack, from St Luke’s, added: “We received lovely comments from lots of the guests and would like to thank you for all your hard work.”
Almost £900 was raised which will go towards helping the charity to their £3 million target.
The next event planned is a Birthday Bubbles & Bingo Night on Friday February 16.
