The Printing House, owned by SG World, has unveiled its new purpose-built premises in Crewe.
And Reaseheath College’s 2018 student prospectus was the first product to roll off the newly installed Sakurai B2 LED-UV 5 Colour Litho press.
The press is a significant investment for the Crewe-based manufacturer, said Peter Harrison, of SG World.
“It incorporates cutting edge LED-UV curing, which means we can offer industry leading colour vibrancy on all substrates, even on uncoated paper.
“Achieving stunning colour reproduction on plastics, vinyl, waterproof paper and window static clings are all now possible.
“Creative designers will be able to play with striking print finishes such as Drip Off Coatings, Spot UV Varnish, Soft Touch Coatings and White Ink.
“We believe there are only a handful of UK printers who can offer this capability to the marketplace at an affordable price point.”
Reaseheath College‘s deputy head of marketing Liz Green and graphic designer Keith Swift visited the factory floor to see their new prospectus.
“We need Reaseheath to jump off the page,” she said.
“We wanted the “earthy, retro” feel of an uncoated finish to showcase the 330 hectares of Reaseheath farms, lake, park and woodlands and bring together both the contemporary and traditional elements of the college.
“The Printing House were able to deliver this finish with an exceptional colour intensity and pin-sharp print quality.”
SG World acquired The Printing House last year and is in the final stages of a plan to bring both companies under one roof at SG World’s 55,000 sq ft premises.
Mark Haase, SG World CEO, said the logistically challenging move was planned and executed well.
“Both teams have worked really well together, reflecting our shared values and a perfect business fit.
“It’s incredibly satisfying to see the first job roll off the press and supports our corporate vision to continually innovate and grow.”
