Low cost housing provider Wulvern is to close its office in Nantwich because of a drop in numbers using it.
The organisation has announced it is to close two town centre offices, one in Crewe and the one in Nantwich, from July 24.
The offices are used by customers to pay rent, report a repair or talk with Wulvern staff about any issues or concerns.
But Wulvern, which manages 5,600 properties, says less than 1% of customers are visiting the offices due to alternative ways the housing association has to access its services.
Nicole Kershaw, Wulvern’s Executive Director (Customers and Homes) said: “The decision to close these offices has not been taken lightly.
“As well as consulting with customers we have conducted a review which showed declining numbers of visitors which in turn means the running of the premises is not value for money.”
Along with improved telephone systems, the firm says customers can still manage accounts online to pay rent, report repairs and neighbourhood issues.
Staff are out of the office more, managing smaller patches of around 250 homes in neighbourhoods.
“At Wulvern we want to deliver services customers want and provide a range of ways for customers to access them,” added Miss Kershaw.
“We know all our customers are different and prefer contacting us in different ways.
“As part of our commitment to promoting inclusion, we provide a number of ways for customers to access our services and get in touch with us, whilst ensuring value for money for our customers.

“We are committed to delivering efficient and effective services and have redesigned our frontline services to ensure we get closer to each and every one of our 15,000 customers.”
