A 16-year-old from Nantwich has been interviewed under caution in connection with the Beam Street gang assault on a 23-year-old man.
Cheshire Police has confirmed today that the 16-year-old voluntarily attended a local police station.
A Cheshire Police spokeswoman said: “A 16-year-old voluntarily attended yesterday afternoon to be interviewed under caution in connection with the assault. He has not been arrested.
“The investigation is continuing.”
The attack outside 1st Choice store on the corner of Beam Street and Manor Road sent shockwaves around the town.
A 23-year-old was punched to the ground and assaulted by a number of youths after the victim had asked to stop throwing bottles.
Local officers have since been piecing together CCTV images and carrying out inquiries in a bid to identify the assailants.
So far, no one has been arrested in connection with the incident.
