Hundreds of people turned out to pay their respects on Armed Forces Day in South Cheshire.
The event took place at Queens Park in Crewe and included a march from the Clock Tower to the Boer War Memorial in the park.
It was led by the Band and Drums of the Cheshire Constabulary and followed by military veterans, cadets and The Royal British Legion Riders Branch.
There was a respectful Remembrance service led by Rev Ken Sambrook with a Prayer of Remembrance, the Last Post, a two minute silence and Reveille.
There were hymns and the singing of the National Anthem.
The event also included a concert by the Band and Drums of the Cheshire Constabulary, a drill parade competition, a craft area, Military Veterans Museum UK exhibition, children’s fun fair rides and a bouncy castle.
Organisations represented included The Royal British Legion (Crewe Branch), The Royal British Legion – Poppy Appeal Collection, The Royal British Legion Riders Branch (Northern Region), 95 (Crewe) Squadron Air Training Corps, Crewe Sea Cadets, Cheshire Army Cadets, Scouts, Friends of Queens Park, The Cat 107.9 FM community radio station, Belong, Cheshire Wildlife Trust, Creative Crewe, CVS – Community & Voluntary Services, and the Cheshire Constabulary.
There were hundreds of other events around the UK held to celebrate and mark Armed Forces Day on July 1.
