A man was attacked and injured in a car park in Nantwich, sparking a police probe.
Detectives are appealing for information and footage from members of the public following the serious assault on Bowers Row car park between 3am and 3.15am on Wednesday July 3.
The incident left the 21-year-old victim, from Crewe, with serious facial injuries.
He was taken to hospital and has since been discharged after receiving treatment.
The man who assaulted him is described as being white and around 19 to 20 years old.
He had a slim build and was wearing a faded red/pink shirt.
Enquiries are ongoing and detectives are urging anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident, or saw anything else that may help their investigation, to get in touch.
They also want to speak to anyone who believes they may know the identity of the offender or have CCTV or dashcam footage of him.
Detective Constable Rachel Hall, of Crewe CID, said: “This was a serious attack on a man who was about to get a lift home following a night out in Nantwich.
“It left him with serious facial injuries that required hospital treatment.
“I would like to reassure the community that this appears to have been an isolated incident and we are determined to establish the offender’s identity and make him face the consequences of his actions.
“Enquiries are ongoing and as part of our investigation we are appealing for anyone with information or mobile phone or dashcam footage regarding the incident or the offender to come forward.
“There were a large number of people in the area at the time of the incident. If you were one of them and have not yet spoken to the police about what happened please contact the team here at Crewe CID.
“We also particularly want to hear from anyone who believes that they may know who the offender is.”
