A woman was injured after her car crashed in Aston Juxtra Montrum, near Nantwich. Fire crews from Nantwich and Crewe were called out to the scene of the accident on Dairy Lane. Firefighters had to cut free the woman from her saloon car. Her injuries were not thought to be serious.

An RSPCA inspector is to run an amazing 1,500 miles across South Africa to raise money for Stapeley Grange Wildlife Centre in Nantwich. A record 900 ducks took part in the 16th Charity Duck Race and Children’s Model Boat Race in Wistaston. The event, held at the Joey the Swan Recreation ground, attracted hundreds of onlookers.
Nantwich Library will celebrate National Poetry Day with an exclusive show by one of the UK’s most renowned performance poets Tony Walsh – AKA Longfella. Tony (pictured) is a “true giant” of the performance poetry scene while performing everywhere from The British Library to The Glastonbury Festival.
Three people from South Cheshire have been charged with human trafficking and a fourth with money laundering. The charges follow an extensive investigation by Crewe CID and the Gangmaster Licensing Authority. Officers executed warrants at five addresses in Crewe. Four men and two women were arrested.
Nantwich shoppers are being warned about a gang who target people at cash machines and then steal their purses or wallets. The warning comes after a number of incidents in and around the town, the latest at Sainsbury’s supermarket on Middlewich Road.
