Nantwich Mayor Arthur Moran has pledged to stage a public meeting to plot a way forward in tackling unauthorised traveller camps on Barony Park.
Cllr Moran made the suggestion at a town council meeting last night (May 16) where scores of angry residents living by the park vented their frustration.
A book by local authors called “Lost Houses in Nantwich” is making a return – 14 years after it was first published.
Authors Andrew Lamberton and the late Robin Gray originally published the book in 2005 and it has become a local classic “must have” for all those interested in local history.

New independent councillors are gearing up for the start of a new era at Cheshire East Council.
The Independent Group has agreed to form a cabinet with Labour in 2019-20, with a view towards ditching the cabinet system next year and replacing it with cross-party committees – something the group began calling for last year through the Change Cheshire East campaign.

The leader of Cheshire East Council’s Independent group Arthur Moran has stepped aside ahead of a new era of no overall control.
Cllr Arthur Moran, of Nantwich North and West, has been replaced in the role by Cllr Craig Browne, who represents Alderley Edge.
Nantwich Fire Cadets were put through their paces when they were visited by Nantwich Town Mayor David Marren and his family.
