Hundreds of young book fans were rewarded at Nantwich Library after completing a summer reading scheme.

Presentations have been taking place at the library to celebrate children who took part in the Circus Stars reading challenge.

Nantwich-based radio station The Cat has been awarded a £2,000 grant from the Co-Operative Group’s Community Fund. Crewe & Nantwich Community Radio Society, which operates as The Cat from its two studios in Nantwich, received the cheque from the Co-Operative Local Area Committee, representing the North West and North Midlands Region.

A popular cafe in Nantwich is to stage fun French classes for youngsters from next week. Kay Leydon will run the La Jolie Ronde pre-school sessions at Funky Monkey, on Regents Park, London Road, every Wednesday. La Jolie Ronde focuses on learning through fun songs, puppets, games and rhymes. Mums and dads will also be encouraged to join in.
