The victim, aged 35, is being treated in hospital after the assault.

By Jonathan White Hundreds enjoyed the warm weather to turn out for Wistaston Village Fete in the grounds of St Mary’s Church Rectory. It began with a procession from Wistaston Memorial Hall led by Scottish Piper John Beattie.
Hundreds of families are expected at this weekend’s Wistaston Village Fete, which takes place on Saturday June 21. The fete will begin with a procession which will leave Wistaston Memorial Hall at 1.30pm.
