Rural flooding victims in South Cheshire blast council response

Residents in parts of rural South Cheshire hit by repeat flooding since October fear they are being ignored by Cheshire East Council.

The area was hit by heavy rain throughout the autumn, but drainage is still struggling to cope with blocked gullies leaving nowhere for surface water running from farmland to travel.

Keyworker Homes and the Guinness Partnership wanted to build 44 affordable homes in Newcastle Road – on land to the west of the Esso garage.

A second man has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of Audlem dad Adam Lovatt, police have confirmed.

The manslaughter charge was added to the indictment against Nicolas Hill, 35, of Moorsfield Avenue, Audlem at Liverpool Crown Court.
