The Civic Hall in Nantwich pulls in comedy fans every month for ‘The Very Best in Standup’ and last night proved to be another exceptional evening, writes Claire Faulkner. This was my first time at a comedy club, and didn’t really know whether this would be for me.
Crowds of people visited Richmond Village in Nantwich to enjoy a traditional Christmas Fayre Craft stalls tempted visitors to buy Christmas gifts, while pupils from Stapeley Broad Lane and Nantwich Young Voices serenaded visitors with Christmas carols around the Christmas tree.
Organisers of Nantwich Big Cheese Film Club have been awarded £500 from the Cheshire East Community Grant fund. The grant comes as the club gears up for its next screening of Volver, starring Penelope Cruz, at The Crown Hotel in Nantwich.

Elederly folk across Nantwich and South Cheshire are tucking into wholesome breakfasts thanks to a porridge donation from Mornflake. The Crewe-based breakfast foods firm has teamed up with Age UK Cheshire to distribute bags of porridge to pensioners at coffee mornings and advice sessions.
