Audlem St James Primary School has become the first school in Cheshire to successfully achieve an NHS Gold Self Care Award.
The award is part of a programme by NHS Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) to promote the benefits of self care in local communities.
A housebuilder has donated a buddy bench to Audlem St James Primary School to help foster friendships outside of the classroom.
Schools in and around Nantwich will benefit from an extra £1 million buildings grant awarded to Cheshire East Council.
Nineteen schools and children centres have been successful in securing extra funding, including Millfields Primary, Audlem St James, Malbank High and Nantwich and Rural Children’s Centre.
The Audlem Christmas Lights switch-on took place in the village with a host of entertainment on offer.
