The annual Wistaston ‘Duck Race and Children’s Model Boat Race’ takes place on Saturday September 9 at the Joey the Swan parkland area.
The stalls and fun games open from 1pm. Admission to the event is free.
Fire crews tackled a blaze which broke out on a canal barge on the Shropshire Union Canal in Nantwich.
The fire happened at around 9.45pm last night (September 14) on the canal off Chester Road in Acton.
Boat and canal enthusiasts are being invited to an Open Day being held at Aqueduct Marina in Church Minshull near Nantwich.
The event is on Saturday July 9 from 11am and there will be a variety of attractions.
Staff at a marina near Nantwich have been asked to build a new boat for the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham!
Aqueduct Marina was approached by waterways and wellbeing charity Canal & River Trust to build the boat in time for the Games in July.

The 23rd Annual Community Duck Race and Children’s Model Boat Race took place at the Joey the Swan Recreation ground, with guests of honour the Rose Queen Poppy Bellingham and her Consort.

Wistaston’s ducks made a comeback after their original race was called off – because of wet weather!
Hundreds of villagers were back out in force this weekend for the re-scheduled event, and had a quacking time at the Joey the Swan recreation ground.

The annual Duck and Boat races in Wistaston finally took place after being postponed because it was too wet!
The 21st event took place at the Joey the Swan Recreation Ground, with hundreds of villagers enjoying the spectacle.
The owners of Overwater Marina near Nantwich has bought two Elephant Bikes for boat owners to use to cycle to Audlem.
The bikes, saved from landfill by the Crizvac Charity, are refurbished from former Royal Mail stock.
Cheshire fire crews have taken a specialist boat to help colleagues battling in the worst flooded areas of Britain. The Cheshire Fire and Rescue boat and its crew have been deployed to Berkshire.
