Brine Leas School in Nantwich is hoping to finally ditch its old mobile classrooms with plans for a new teaching block. The proposals will see a new two-storey block containing eight classrooms built next to the sports hall at the academy’s Audlem Road site.
Most schools across Nantwich will be closed tomorrow (November 30) along with public venues like Nantwich Baths as part of national strike action. All major teaching unions, including the headteacher’s NAHT, are involved in the strike which leaves thousands of youngsters in South Cheshire at home for the day.
South Cheshire’s RedShift Radio will be on air from November 21 for its second 28-day broadcast of the year. The station, on 87.7FM, will run until December 19 focusing on communities of Crewe, Nantwich and surrounding villages.
A former Brine Leas School pupil is starring in the latest series of Big Brother on Channel 5. Young entrepreneur Harry Blake (pictured), from Hunsterson, near Nantwich, entered the house last week for the new series.
