Nantwich and District Band has issued a plea for more members to join the group. The band, which celebrates its 30th anniversary next year, needs players for a range of brass, woodwind and percussion instruments, organisers say.
Dozens of campaigners gathered with local councillors and MP Edward Timpson to launch a petition against a massive Nantwich housing development. Hundreds of residents have already objected to Muller Property Group’s bid to build a 1,000-home “Nantwich South” site in Stapeley.
Stapeley families are invited to join in the parish’s first annual Christmas Carol concert later this month. The event will be held at the Cronkinson Farm pub (pictured), off Peter Destapleigh Way, from 6.30pm onwards on Wednesday December 21.
TV comedian and actor Ben Miller will open phase two of a popular new play area in his home town Nantwich. More work on the Stapeley recreation area, next to Pear Tree Primary School, will begin this week. It will see the area closed from September 21 for around four weeks.
