Candidates battling for election to Nantwich Town Council have been announced.
Twelve councillors in all will be voted in on May 7 – seven to represent Nantwich and West Ward, and five to represent Nantwich South.
A parish council in Nantwich is on the hunt for a new councillor. Stapeley Parish Council wants to hold an election to fill the vacancy after former councillor Darren Willetts resigned due to job relocation.
Bunbury Councillor Michael Jones is the new Leader of Cheshire East Council, despite a late challenge by Nantwich Independent Cllr Arthur Moran. Cllr Jones, also leader of the Conservative group, won an election after receiving 48 of the 73 votes cast.
