The move to elevate St Mary’s Church in Nantwich to Minster status has taken another step forward.
Nantwich Town councillors overwhelmingly backed the growing support for the move when they discussed it tonight (September 7).
A packed Nantwich Civic Hall welcomed in the new Mayor of Nantwich, Cllr Christine Farrall. The former headteacher was sworn in as the town council’s new chair, taking over from outgoing mayor Cllr John Lewis.

Nantwich Town Council leader John Lewis took a day off from politics to win the 19th Reaseheath Open Vintage Day golf tournament. John competed against 36 other players over the age of 65 in the competition run by Reaseheath College sports turf students.
