A moorer’s moving family story has prompted Aqueduct Marina in Church Minshull to choose Kidney Research UK as its 2018 charity.
The charity was put forward by Audrey Foulkes, one of Aqueduct Marina’s long-term moorers.
Workers at a Nantwich finance firm are to tackle the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge – in honour of a colleague who battled kidney disease.
Employees at Afford Bond, on Wellington Road, will walk 23 miles on a circular route over three peaks with more than 5,000 feet of ascent – in just 12 hours!
Members of a charity group called Movers & Shakers have helped to raise £89,000 for two causes.
The fundraising committee of the group held a Sunday Night Supper evening to raise awareness and much-needed funds for The Cure Parkinson’s Trust, and Kidney Research UK.
