More than 200 residents crammed into a village hall to air concerns on plans to build 1,800 new homes near Nantwich. Muller Property and Gladman Properties are targeting land off Middlewich Road and Church Lane, in Wistaston.
A Cheshire East Cabinet councillor has vowed “very serious action” after trees blocking a proposed controversial “Nantwich South” access road were hacked down. Cllr David Brown said they are looking at whether the council’s environmental conditions have been breached.

Hundreds of dairy farmers from Nantwich and South Cheshire have joined in the protests over milk prices. The farmers have been demonstrating outside processing firms calling on fairer prices for their milk.
