Nantwich Town Council has appointed a new town clerk to take the council forward into 2012. Former clerk Riddell Graham has been replaced by Ian Hope (pictured), a former planning officer.

More lives saved as Nantwich ambulance response times improve
More lives are being saved in and around Nantwich after a campaign to improve ambulance response times in the town. Latest figures show 80% of category A calls are being reached within the eight-minute later – up from just 55% 18 months ago.

Nantwich Town Council to take over major buildings
Nantwich Town Council has agreed to take on the town’s Civic Centre and indoor and outdoor markets from April 2012. Town councillors also voted to take charge of public toilets in the market, on Barony Park and Snow Hill car park.
Councillors back plans to attract coach parties to Nantwich
Town councillors and rotary chiefs have backed plans to attract more coachloads of visitors to boost Nantwich town centre’s economy. Peter Saunders, Chairman of Rotary Weaver, has sent a letter to 300 UK coach companies who either use the M6 or come to destinations close to Nantwich.

Nantwich Food and Drink Festival organisers are promising an even tastier array of attractions when the popular “feastival” returns to the town centre this week. The event is free of charge and offers more than 400 attractions across the heart of the town in shops and marquees.
