Nantwich Police chiefs warned troublemakers to stay away from the town during the Easter weekend’s Nantwich Jazz and Music Festival. Thousands of visitors are expected to cram into the town centre over the next four days for the 16th annual event.
Nantwich people involved in alcohol-related crime have been discovering the impact their behaviour has on the community in a pilot project to reduce offending. The ARC course is offered to anyone reported to police for alcohol related anti-social behaviour, and aims to educate them in the dangers.
Police are hunting a man who tried to lure girls in a series of incidents in Nantwich and Crewe. The man was seen three times approaching teenagers in his green Vauxhall in a three-hour period on Saturday night (January 7).
A major road in and out of Nantwich was closed off temporarily by police after an incident involving a lorry. The truck was left blocking Middlewich Road, near Sainsbury’s superstore, with police cars guarding it.
A lorry which jack-knifed across both carriageways of the M6 in Cheshire, crashing into several cars, caused traffic chaos for thousands of motorists today. Five cars were caught up in the accident between junctions 21 and 21A which led to closures on the M62 westbound to the M6 southbound, on the M62 eastbound to the M6 southbound, and the M6 at Croft Interchange.
