The application site is part of a larger area to the south of Peter De Stapleigh Way at Stapeley which was granted permission on appeal in 2020 for mixed-use development.

The trial into alleged breaches of fire safety regulations by four companies involved in the design, risk assessment, management and maintenance of Beechmere began yesterday (May 6) at Chester Crown Court.

An Edwardian former orphanage described as a jewel in Crewe’s crown is set to be converted into retirement flats after standing empty for 12 years.

Cheshire East Council’s southern planning committee has given the go-ahead for Grade II-listed Webb House in Victoria Avenue, to be transformed into 54 extra care apartments with a swimming pool and gym – subject to final design tweaks being approved by planning officers.
