By Jonathan White Santa Claus has taken time off from his busy schedule to meet and hand out presents to Nantwich children. He’s set up a Nantwich branch of his Grotto in the attic of Nantwich Bookshop in High Street, Nantwich town centre.
Nantwich men are being urged to ditch the trousers and dress up in drag – to help Cheshire’s St Luke’s Hospice. The charity’s annual Dame for a Laugh event, Cheshire’s only men-only fancy dress drag walk, is taking place on September 22.
The Rotary Club of Nantwich is organising a sponsored walk to raise money for local charities. The walk is scheduled to take place on Sunday June 24 in the grounds of Reaseheath College, Nantwich.
Two popular Nantwich venues are to stage a “Madhatters” street party to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Bosses of Firenze restaurant and The Cheshire Cat have been given the go ahead to close a section of Welsh Row to traffic to stage the event.
Nantwich Museum is displaying the artwork of youngsters from across the town who took part in a competition. The exhibition is being held in the Community Gallery and runs until May 26.
Father Christmas is taking time off from his busy schedule to meet and hand out presents to youngsters at his Nantwich Grotto. He has once again set up a branch of his Grotto upstairs in the attic of the Nantwich Bookshop on High Street, in the town square.
The Rotary Club of Nantwich Christmas fund-raising float will be out and about bringing joy to youngsters next week. Santa will be visiting Nantwich streets, supermarkets and the town square throughout December, raising money for local charities.
A Christmas Fayre is being held at Richmond Village Nantwich later this month. The event, on Saturday November 26, will include more than 20 stalls displaying crafts and gifts together with a visit from Father Christmas, courtesy of The Rotary Club of Nantwich.
