Railway enthusiasts and families enjoyed a fantastic afternoon as the much-loved Peacock Railway in Willaston held its first Public Running Day.
Operated by the South Cheshire Model Engineering Society, the miniature railway behind The Peacock Inn on Crewe Road, marked the start of a new season with a day out for families.
The “Church with the Train” in Nantwich is to stage a special celebration to mark 200 years since the world’s first passenger train service.
The event is at the Methodist Church on Hospital Street in Nantwich on Saturday, July 12.

Hundreds of people enjoyed a sunny Open Day at the popular Peacock Railway attraction in Willaston.
Guests were treated to miniature steam and battery-electric train rides for two laps around the impressive 5-inch gauge track which is nearly a quarter of a mile long.
