Food producers were given a flavour of how Reaseheath College in Nantwich can help them expand their businesses.
Businesses in Cheshire and surrounding counties were on the first public tour of the new Food Innovation Centre.
The event, which attracted 32 visitors, showcased state-of-the-art facilities, services and support on offer.
Food producers can hire the facilities and technical staff to develop or increase production of dairy, butchery, bakery and confectionery products.
They also heard from Dave Maguire, of Food Department for Grosvenor Garden Centre, and Sarah Darlington, of Cheshire family firm Darlington & Daughters.
Russell Stubbs and Elys Poppy, of The Sauce Queen, a new Cheshire business manufacturing chilled sauces, are planning to develop a blue cheese sauce.
Elys, studying a Foundation Degree in Food Industry with Management at Reaseheath,: “This has been an excellent opportunity to learn what is on offer for the small business start-up.
“The new facilities are brilliant and having qualified staff to advise is invaluable.”
