Staff at the new Fat Face store in Nantwich hailed the shop’s opening as a huge success for the town.
The lifestyle fashion outlet opened its doors in the former Ye Old Vault’s premises on the town square last Saturday (June 16).
And store boss David Percival said they were stunned at the number of people queuing to get in at opening time.
And business has been brisk all week since it opened.
David said: “The store opening was fantastic and very busy.
“For the first time in all the years that I’ve worked for Fat Face there were actually queues to get into the store!
“Our customers loved the shop and loved the range we have. What a great day for the town and for the business.”
Fat Face sells clothing and accessories for men, women and children.
The Nantwich store has ranges from cool summer shirts, boardies and t-shirts, to cute dresses, swimwear and cover-ups, as well as accessories like jewellery, bags and hats, wallets, watches and footwear.
The new store has been broadly welcomed by councillors and business leaders who believe national chains like Fat Face and Marks and Spencer can help pull more shoppers into the town.
