Firefighters who tackled a blaze which swept through the Pizza Parlour takeaway in Nantwich today say it was accidental.

Crews from Nantwich and Crewe were called out at about 8.20am and found the blaze sweeping through the ground floor on Beam Street.

Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to fight the flames.

A covering jet was also set up to stop the fire spreading.

A fire investigation has now been launched to find the cause of the blaze.

Police had to close roads in the town centre while the incident was ongoing.

They are still closed around Swine Market and part of Beam Street.

Now Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service believe the cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.

It is thought it started in the extractor fan.
