Mrs Stockton passed away on Saturday (December 15) at the Cypress Court Nursing Home in Crewe.
Mrs Stockton served on Nantwich Town Council for 20 years before becoming the town’s second Mayor, succeeding Mrs Edith Williams, in 2010/2011.
She previously held the position of Chair of the Town Council in 1995/96 and 2003/04 and was also a borough councillor on the former Crewe and Nantwich Council for nine years.

Cllr Arthur Moran, who was her Deputy Mayor in 2010/2011, said: “Joyce was a true Dabber, well respected as a Town and Crewe and Nantwich Borough Councillor, who always put the residents of Nantwich first.
“She was also for many years a Beam Heath Trustee and only the second female trustee in its long history.”
