Flowers Lane near Leighton Hospital is to close for 22 weeks from Monday June 26.
It’s the next phase of the ongoing North West Crewe Package of works which has seen a section of the A530 Middlewich Road by the hospital closed since April.
The A530 between Flowers Lane and Smithy Lane re-opened this week after a new roundabout was finished.
New works will include a full closure of Flowers Lane starting on Monday for approximately 22 weeks.
This is for the construction of Fairfield Roundabout and the link from Flowers Lane to the A530/Flowers Lane Roundabout which was open this week.
Construction bosses say the whole scheme remains on schedule for completion in spring 2024.
The project has been criticised in the past, particularly during the lengthy and delayed closure of the A530 between Pyms Lane and the hospital throughout most of 2022.

Agreed. The whole thing is a shambles with no consideration of hospital ambulances and local residents. Not surprised, money grabbing house builders and useless Council not supporting it’s residents.
EVERYTIME THEY SHOW A MAP OF THIS ROAD BUILDING PLAN, IT IS TOO SMALL AND NOT VERY CLEAR AS TO THE WAY THE TRAFFIC WILL FLOW TO AND FROM THE HOSPITAL, WHICH IS NO HELP TO ANYBODY. I THINK THEY HAVE TO PRINT A LARGE CLEAR MAP SHOWING THE CHANGES OF TRAFFIC FLOW AND THE ROUTES BEING DISRUPTED WHILE THEY BUILD ROUNDABOUTS. AS SOMEBODY WHO GOES TO THE HOSPITAL FROM THE MINI ROUNDABOUT FROM BRADFIELD ROAD, AND MINSHULL NEW ROAD TO MY LEFT, AND SMITHY LANE IN FRONT AND FLOWERS LANE TO MY RIGHT, I WOULD GO STRAIGHT AHEAD TO THE HOSPITAL, USUALLY OUT PATIENTS, SO IT WOULD BE A VERY NASTY SURPRISE TO GET THERE AND FIND I COULD NOT PROCEED, SO ROAD BUILDERS AND CEC PRINT OUT THE MAP AND GIVE IT TO ALL RESIDENTS IN CEC SO THEY KNOW WHAT AND WHERE THINGS ARE HAPPENING, AND HOW AND WHICH ROUTES ARE OPEN TO THEM, DO NOT THINK YOUR MINI USELESS MAPS ARE HELPING ANYBODY, THINK AGAIN.
