READER’S LETTER: Cheshire East Council budget “unkind and uncaring”
Dear Editor,
I did not support Cheshire East Council’s budget for the following reasons:
This budget is unkind, this budget is uncaring.

Dear Editor,
Parliament has just voted to tie its own hands on future trade deals.
In a vote on the Trade Bill, MPs voted to drop an amendment that would have guaranteed them a vote on trade deals.
Dear Editor,
Many of our residents will have watched, read or heard about the unedifying behaviour displayed by Councillors at Handforth Parish Council which went viral last week.
Dear Editor,
To mark National Heart Month this February, I’ve teamed up with the British Heart Foundation (BHF) to call on the nation to do at least one thing to improve their heart health, while raising much-needed funds for the charity’s life saving work.
Dear Editor,
Cheshire Police are advertising for yet another new Chief Constable.
The salary is £156,693 per year. Which is nearly as much as the Prime Minister is paid for doing TWO jobs, PM and MP.
Dear Editor,
At the Environment and Regeneration Overview and Scrutiny meeting on Monday 18th January 2021, I raised the point that Cllr Craig Browne mentioned at Cabinet last week that “The Transport Ministry has confirmed that CEC’s expression of interest to the (government) rural mobility fund has been successful”.
Dear Editor,
2020 was a difficult year for everyone.
Though there is hope on the horizon, starting 2021 in lockdown is not how most people wanted to ring in the New Year.
Dear Editor,
I am writing to ask your readers to consider doing something brilliant in 2021 and raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support in the North West.
2020 was a difficult year for us all.
Dear Editor,
Nantwich has the highest parish precept in Cheshire East = £122.66 for a Band D household.
This is going up by 42.5% for 2021/2022 = £52.13 = £174.79.
Dear Editor,
Last year was turbulent for most of us, but a lucrative one for supermarkets.
Sainsbury’s has already reported a 9.3 per cent rise in sales over Christmas and Morrisons is not far behind with an 8.5 per cent increase in what is expected to be a bumper trading period for supermarkets.
Dear Editor,
Last August, I wrote a letter (Wistaston resident fearful of perilous path) to Nantwich News raising my concerns for the safety of walkers on the busy Wistaston Green Road in Wistaston, due to its degraded road surface and the obstructions and narrowing of the path adjacent to the Bellway ‘Kingfisher Reach’ housing development construction site.
Dear Editor,
Sadly, we are in lock down again.
This is a worry to all of us, but it is extremely stressful to those parents with school age children and all those who work so hard to educate and support them in our schools.
Dear Editor,
The PCR Covid test is totally useless.
It throws up an amazing 93% FALSE positive rate. This means that 93% of the Covid deaths are not Covid deaths at all.
