Stalking offences against women in Cheshire are set to hit a record high, latest figures show.

And it comes as other statistics show the true picture of violence suffered by women in the county, with 13 killed by men in a three year period.

A Cheshire man, 50, has today been arrested in connection with the murder of Stuart Lubbock at a pool party at TV star Michael Barrymore’s house 20 years ago.

Detectives from Essex Police said they have arrested a 50-year-old man in connection with the indecent assault and murder of Stuart Lubbock (pictured).

Cheshire sexual violence services say they are ready to support victims whose memories are triggered by a BBC three-part series “Football’s Darkest Secret”.

The series is based on abuse suffered by young footballers which came to light when former Crewe Alexandra player Andy Woodward spoke out in 2016 about being abused by Barry Bennell while at the South Cheshire club.
