The inaugural ‘Tea at the Tower’ guided circular walk in Acton proved a big hit.
The walk went from St Mary’s Church, on Monks Lane, and was led by Nigel and Deborah Anderson.
Alpraham resident Mark Sharkey has been chosen by Green Party as candidate in next week’s Bunbury ward be-election.
The seat – which covers the communities of Acton, Alpraham, Aston, Barbridge, Church Minshull and Reaseheath and Bunbury, was vacated by former Cheshire East Council Leader Michael Jones.

‘Tea at the Tower’ takes place at St Mary’s Church on Monks Lane in Acton every Sunday.
Visitors can enjoy guided tours up the church tower as far as the ringing chamber from 2.30pm to 4.30pm throughout the year.
The owners of historic Dorfold Hall estate have unveiled plans to build up to 55 homes, a new pub, village green and a link road to help breath new life into Acton village near Nantwich.
Charles and Candice Roundell say the multi-million plan will help create a sense of ‘community’ again, direct traffic away from the narrow Monks Lane, and provide affordable housing for younger families in the village.

A Christmas Tree Festival took place at St Mary’s Church in Acton near Nantwich at the weekend.
There was a grand opening on Friday with a guest appearance from Father Christmas, followed by a ‘Mingle and Jingle’ charity Christmas concert.
Thousands braved the rain and mud to enjoy another spectacular Nantwich Show at Dorfold Park.
And as these pictures show, the weather did not put people off taking in the wide array of events, exhibitions and marquees on offer.
Communities around six Nantwich churches teamed up to produce these stunning knitted tableau pieces.
School children to grannies, Brownies and Guides to sheltered housing residents, police officers to publicans, and farmers to family practitioners have all helped produce the displays.
