By Jonathan White Hundreds enjoyed the warm weather to turn out for Wistaston Village Fete in the grounds of St Mary’s Church Rectory. It began with a procession from Wistaston Memorial Hall led by Scottish Piper John Beattie.
Organisers of this weekend’s Nantwich Town Fete are promising a fun-packed day for all the family. The event, a revival of an old tradition, will sit alongside “SkoolsFest”, which showcases young talent from the town’s schools in singing, dancing, drama and the arts.

Millfields Primary and Nursery choir in Nantwich will sing a medley of 60s hits as part of celebrations to mark the school’s 50th birthday. The school, on Marsh Lane, first opened in January 1964 but the official opening took place later that year.
