Hundreds of Santas will be dashing around Nantwich this weekend – in aid of Hope House Children’s Hospice. The traditional Nantwich Festive Fun Run takes place this Sunday December 8 through the town centre, starting in the town square.
Thousands of people packed into Nantwich town square to celebrate the Christmas Lights switch-on. TV vet Steve Leonard switched on the lights and families gathered together to watch a Blitz fireworks show.
The Crewe Christmas lights switch-on took place on the town square in front of hundreds of excited families. There was entertainment from Shavington-based jazz musician Tom Seals and Katy Perry tribute K T Perry.
A community Christmas carol concert is being planned for families in Stapeley, Nantwich. Stapeley Parish Council is to stage the concert at the new community hall next to Pear Tree School on December 10.
South Cheshire community station RedShift Radio is teaming up with the Crewe Lyceum Theatre to host a festive Christmas Gift Fair. The event at the theatre will take place on Saturday November 30 from 10am-3pm.

Organisers of this weekend’s Nantwich Christmas Lights switch on are urging families to get to town early. Thousands are expected to pack the town centre for the festive event which starts at 5.30pm in the town square.
Staff and visitors at a marina near Nantwich have helped to raise more than £1,000 for charities. Aqueduct Marina, at Church Minshull, has staged a number of events to raise the cash in the marina café and reception area.

The Nantwich Singers will mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Benjamin Britten with a concert at St Mary’s Church. They will be performing works by the celebrated English composer and also Henry Purcell this Saturday November 23.
Christmas has come early in Nantwich after 40 advertising hoardings promoting the town’s traders were unveiled. The boards, which also promote the November 30 Christmas lights switch on, are a joint project by Nantwich Town Council and local businesses.
The Crewe & Nantwich Community Awards 2014 are seeking nominations. The awards, run by Nantwich-based community radio station The Cat, aim to celebrate people who dedicate their time to help others.
