Talented Nantwich and Crewe students will be celebrating their achievements at an annual End of Year Show next week. South Cheshire College’s Creative and Applied Arts faculty is staging a Visual Arts and Media exhibition alongside dance, drama, song and more, on June 14.

By Jonathan White The rain didn’t dampen the Jubilee spirit as people turned out in their hundreds for the Willaston Jubilee and Rose Queen Fete. The event was staged on the Letty Spencer Playing Fields in Wybunbury Road, Willaston.
Youngsters on half-term holiday can join in the Royal fun with special workshops at Nantwich Museum. The Pillory Street venue will be running a range of activities on June 6 and 7 this week, inspired by the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
By Nicola Tooke The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee was celebrated at Richmond Village Nantwich when residents, guests and staff held a street party. More than 100 people dressed in red white, and blue with The Cat Radio and award-winning Foden’s Brass Band providing the music.
A Diamond Jubilee Variety Concert will take place tomorrow (June 2) in Wistaston Memorial Hall, Church Lane, Wistaston. The concert features a host of performers including The Grove Singers, Jack Gresty and his trumpet, and a monologue by Tim Lloyd.
The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee is being celebrated at Nantwich Museum with an exhibition “Nantwich under the two Elizabeths” opening tomorrow (June 2). It’s one of the most ambitious exhibitions to be staged at the Pillory Street venue, occupying both galleries.
Hundreds of Nantwich children, teachers and parents crammed into the town square to mark the start of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. They danced and sang to music, listened to speeches by dignitaries and watched as a special floral beacon was lit up.

Council chiefs warned thousands of Crewe and Nantwich residents to expect travel and business disruption when the Olympic Torch arrives in town. Major routes will be shut for more than two hours during peak morning as torchbearers run the Flame around Crewe town centre.
