This amazing Remembrance Day “Ribbon of Poppies” cascade with silhouetted soldiers has been unveiled at Wistaston & Rope War Memorial.

The 70ft high cascade was installed by the 35th South West Cheshire (Wistaston) Scout Group, made of more than 5,000 plastic bottle ends donated by Scouts and members of the public.

Cheshire East is deciding on a case by case basis if children in the council’s care should be given the Covid vaccine if birth parents do not consent.

Annemarie Parker, head of service for cared for children and care leavers, told a corporate parenting committee that the local authority sought consent from the parents of cared for children aged 12 to 15.
