Wistaston Memorial Hall and Community Centre on Church Lane were filled to capacity for the November 11 Service of Remembrance – the centenary of the end of First World War.

The amount of rubble waste being dealt with at Cheshire East tips has fallen by 80% since a new charge was introduced.

Cheshire East Council launched a charge of £3.50 per bag for construction waste in January as part of wider changes to its recycling centres.

The Government is set to invest more than £8 million on patching up Cheshire’s roads next year.

Cheshire East Council will receive £4,632,000 from the Department for Transport in 2019-20, while Cheshire West and Chester Council will receive £3,525,000.
