Car owners in Nantwich have been warned after an incident in Wybunbury.
The owner of a Volkswagen Golf left a car on the drive with the engine running to defrost the windscreen and went back inside.
Police and fire crews were called to Nantwich Lake after a car plunged into the water.
Stunned onlookers watched as the silver estate car rolled into the lake off Park Road, which was busy with visitors.
Police are hunting arsonists who torched three cars close to the centre of Nantwich. The fires happened in two separate incidents in the Beam Street and Birchin Lane areas of the town.
