This beautiful swan and her new family are proving a real attraction for people out and about in Nantwich!
Captured by this stunning photo by Laura Hockenhull, the swan recently had what is believed to be six cygnets hatch on the banks of the River Weaver.
The RSPCA is urging residents to look out for local wildlife after a swan was taken to Stapeley Grange wildlife centre in Nantwich with multiple injuries – on the same day seven of her cygnets went missing.
The swan, nicknamed Mabel, is a known character on the River Weaver in nearby Northwich, along with her mate Albert and their nine cygnets.

RSPCA officers are investigating claims dog owners are encouraging animals to attack swans and cygnets at Nantwich Lake.
And they say they are “sickened” after receiving reports from a number of witnesses who have seen the attacks.
