South Cheshire’s Thefunkychoir held a fundraising concert to help rhythmic gymnasts in their bid to attend the Special Olympics World Games.
The choir, a faith based group, mainly sing funky songs and like to sing three-part harmonies.

A Christmas concert featuring The Funky Choir at St Mary’s Church on Monks Lane in Acton has helped raise vital funds for charity.
The Funky Choir, which formed in 2010 in Nantwich, performed a mixture of pop, jazz, gospel, rock and rhythm and blues music in the first half.

St Mary’s Church in Acton near Nantwich will host several Christmas-themed events over the first weekend in December.
An indoor ‘Christmas Tree Festival’ takes place on Saturday December 3 (9am to 5pm) and Sunday December 4 (12pm to 5.30pm).
The local Marie Curie Support Group is organising a concert in conjunction with The Funky Choir. The concert will be held on November 16 at Nantwich Methodist Church, Hospital Street, Nantwich at 7pm for 7.30pm. VE Day Celebrations to mark the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe, took place in Nantwich town centre.
Union Jack flags lined the streets and shop windows of the town centre, with rain moving the celebrations from the town square to St Mary’s Church.
A commemorative concert for fallen heroes of South Cheshire is to be held 100 years after the start of the First World War.
Called “Crewe Reflects – a Commemorative Concert”, it includes a premiere of new work combining original music, film and writing.
Nantwich-based The Funky Choir is heading back to the rehearsal room at Regents College in Nantwich this week. The group begin practice for another season on Thursday under the direction of musical director Jenny Casby.

Church Minshull Aqueduct Marina near Nantwich will stage its fourth annual Family Fun Day on Sunday July 21. The day will follow the successful formula of last year’s event, showcasing boats, crafts and local companies.
