A development of up to 1,100 houses, businesses, shops and a possible school in Nantwich has been recommended for approval. The proposal, for land at Kingsley Fields (pictured), has been put forward by the North West Nantwich Consortium, including Reaseheath College.
A selection of artefacts dug up during the Kingsley Fields excavation in Nantwich have gone on display at the town’s museum. The Roman dig was carried out in 2002 by Greater Manchester Archaeological Unit, funded by developers Bellway Homes.
A cycleway through grounds of a Nantwich college is to be closed – because of safety fears for students. Reaseheath College has been told it needs to shut the route, a link to the national Sustrans cycleway, because of “increasingly stringent” regulations.
Nantwich residents can air views on plans for a major development between Reaseheath College and the town centre. Plans for 1,100-homes, business and retail units at Kingsley Fields will be on view for a final time at Nantwich Museum tomorrow (April 25).
Nantwich Museum volunteers and trustees are working hard to secure the venue’s future in tough financial times. The independent Pillory Street facility has lost some of its traditional funding and is facing increasing costs.
The Rotary Club of Nantwich Christmas fund-raising float will be out and about bringing joy to youngsters next week. Santa will be visiting Nantwich streets, supermarkets and the town square throughout December, raising money for local charities.
