The Government is set to invest more than £8 million on patching up Cheshire’s roads next year.
Cheshire East Council will receive £4,632,000 from the Department for Transport in 2019-20, while Cheshire West and Chester Council will receive £3,525,000.

Exclusive Compensation paid out by Cheshire East Council for pothole-damaged vehicles has almost trebled in 12 months, Nantwichnews can reveal. They paid out a staggering £32,000 to drivers in 2012 as claims lodged more than doubled compared to 2011.
The pothole-ridden A500 Shavington bypass near Nantwich is to close for two days to allow for urgent repairs. The eastbound lane heading away from Nantwich towards the M6 will be closed between 9.30am and 4pm on Thursday March 14.
