Cheshire East’s new environment leader has declared war on potholes – after our disgruntled readers plagued the council’s hotline. The authority has revealed more than 2,000 calls have been made to its pothole hotline in the past three weeks.
Work on damaged roads in and around Nantwich has been bolstered by a £2.3 million grant from the Government. The funding comes after Cheshire East councillors lobbied Ministers for more cash to repair highways badly damaged by freezing winters and floods.
A new method of tackling potholes has been hailed a success by Cheshire East Council after trials took place in Nantwich. More trials will take place across the borough with a view to rolling out the new high-tech method.
