Red-faced highways chiefs have said “sorry” over the horrific state of a busy road in Wrenbury, near Nantwich.
It comes after angry residents erected a sign on Station Road, warning drivers the road would “break their soul as well as their vehicle”.
Miffed off villagers in Wrenbury have created their own roadside sign – to warn motorists of the horrific state of the highway!
The sign, stating “This road may break your vehicle – and your soul”, has been erected by the side of Station Road in Wrenbury.
CEC bosses are now set to carry out works to a busy zebra crossing where markings have worn out, despite initially saying it posed “no immediate risk”.
The u-turn comes after Nantwich News highlighted the concerns of resident Bill Pearson who was nearly hit a number of times bu vehicles seemingly unaware of the crossing.
Fed-up road users in Wrenbury have launched a petition to get this busy pothole-ridden rural road re-surfaced.
It comes after residents believe Cheshire East Council had the funds to do the work on Station Road and Wrenbury Road last year – but then diverted the money elsewhere.
